Slicing & Packaging Line for Buns and Rolls
For one of our recent projects, we created a complete slicing and packaging solution for buns and rolls — all connected to a cooling spiral.
Project specs:
- Buns & rolls
- Hinge or butterfly cut
- 30 bags per minute
- 360 buns per minute
- Different package lay-out possible
The process starts with a conveyor lift that sends the buns to different parts of the line. From there, we use an automatic infeed system that gently arranges the buns into neat rows. This helps us organize, group, and count them correctly.
Next, the buns go through a slicing machine that can make two types of cuts: a hinge cut or a butterfly cut, depending on what’s needed.
After slicing, the buns are transferred using a special turning system that rotates the rows 90 degrees. It also adjusts the layout from five rows to four, getting everything ready for smooth packaging.
The grouped buns then move into a pillow pack machine, where they’re wrapped and sealed to keep them fresh. Finally, an inclined conveyor gently lifts the packs, making it easy to load them into cartons for shipping.
This project shows how we bring smart design and automation together — to make food production faster, more efficient, and reliable.
